Objectives

5th grade Computer Class is a time to learn the skills necessary to complete your assignments throughout your formal education. You will focus on learning the functions of the following Microsoft Products: Word, Exel and PowerPoint. You will complete projects that use those programs while developing your research skills on the Internet. You will also work on reading and following detailed directions to help you read and pay attention to all the details that may be contained in directions. It is important that you learn to read directions carefully for all of your assignments.

You will also work on developing accuracy while learning the locations of the letters on the keyboard. Each class will begin with Typing practice, with the keys covered. Focus is on the accuracy not the speed at this time. You will record both speed and accuracy scores so you can track your progress, but you will only be graded on your accuracy scores. Your speed and accuracy will both improve if you initially focus on the accuracy.
